Jaguars new XF surpasses sales expectations

May 26, 2008 |16:56 | Auto Shows | Cocept Cars | Gossips | Jaguar | New Launches  By : Team X

Jaguar dealers across the Middle East have just launched the new XF saloon but targets have already gone beyond pre sales expectations with all allotted units sold out.

Mark Eedle, Regional Sales and Marketing Manager for Jaguar Middle East attributed the success to pre launch excitement created at the Kuwait and Dubai Motor Shows.

UAE, Kuwait, Oman and Lebanon have been the strongest markets with over 75% of sales being generated out of these four countries.

'The reception we’ve been getting from customers across the region has been phenomenal. We’ve got a sell-out with the new XF. This success is reaffirmation that our new design strategy is on track with meeting and exceeding customer requirements. The XF is a bold new step that shows the world Jaguar truly knows how to design beautiful, fast cars,'

added Eedle.

Having received excellent reviews from customers and media from around the world, the new XF was voted 'Car of the Year' at the 2008 What Car? awards. This was another addition to a list that already included a host of significant awards like 'Car of the Year’ from The Sun newspaper, 'Interior of the Year’ from CAR magazine and the 'Design Award’ from Autocar magazine.

The new XF is available with three different engine variants: 3.0 litre V6 and 4.2 litre (natural or supercharged variants), all featuring Jaguar’s six-speed automatic transmission with steering wheel-mounted 'paddles’ for manual gear selection (Jaguar Sequential Shift).

Jaguar XK Coupe 2007

The mileage for our Jaguar has actually decreased since our last update No, it's not a typo; The reason is simple, the car we had was an early production unit that had to go back home or risk being impounded. So we replaced it with the exact same car, almost.

We got the Lux Aluminum Package ($8125) Instead of the Advanced Technology Package ($2500) and 19-inch Carelia wheels ($1200),, which gave us aluminum fascia trim, leather instrument panel, 20-inch Senta wheels, and 16-way power driver and passenger seats. This brings our new as-tested price to $83,625, just over four grand more than our first car.

2007 Jaguar XK Coupe
Total Mileage                           4,634
Average fuel econ                   18.0 mpg
Unresolved problem areas   None
Maintenance cost                    None

The Portfolio Package in 2007 Jaguar XKR

March 12, 2007 |20:13 | Jaguar  By : Arshad Ali Khan

The latest version of Jaguar's XKR is a terrific car to drive, but the quality of some of its smaller parts and materials remain a matter of complaint. The Portfolio package aims to address the issue, remedying its performance a bit more at the same time, when price still remains higher above the XKR's already-hefty window sticker. Looking same from the outside, the only change in every XKR Portfolio is the paint color celestial black, and each will be dressed up with polished aluminum side vents and with twenty-inch Cremona wheels.

Lying behind the front wheels is a six-piston brake-calipers badge with a large "R" in red that squeeze down on the biggest brakes in Jaguar’s racing history. At 15.7 inches at the front, the XKR Portfolio's discs are 1.7 inches in diameter larger than the regular XKR. Four piston calipers pinch 13.8 inch discs in the rear. The new system, developed at the Nürburgring, features XKR's 420 horsepower, 4.2-liter supercharged V-8 engine.

The Portfolio option inside the cabin brings a new shift knob and door handles, contrast stitching, and leather-trimmed floor-mats. The new veneers, engine-spun aluminum and American walnut, are also being offered. This is also Jaguar's first production application of a Bowers & Wilkins speaker system, following on the heels of a similar system in the C-XF concept car. The 525-watt-system uses Dolby Pro Logic II surround sound and Kevlar mid-range speakers designed specifically for the XK's cabin. This ‘portfolio-package’ in XKR would be available from March 2007 onwards.

Jaguar XJ

March 10, 2007 |14:23 | Jaguar  By : Jag

Jaguar has again raised the standard for luxury cars with a new generation of the XJ saloon. The flagship of the Jaguar range benefits from visual changes, technological advances and additional features on all 2008 model year cars. Already renowned for its all-aluminium body construction, state-of-the-art technologies and outstanding craftsmanship and build quality, the new XJ is now even more desirable.

The key developments for every new XJ model include a more contemporary, assertive and sporting exterior look and significant improvements to the renowned interiors, as well as the latest intuitive in-car technology.

An all-new, distinctive design for the XJ's front gives the 2008 model an unmistakeably purposeful appearance, a look complemented by the new side power vents, lower body sills and a subtle rear aero spoiler.

Inside the 2008 Model Year XJ cabin an all-new seat design offers major benefits in comfort and support, while customers will also have the option of adding an advanced air-cooling system to their heated front seats.

Jaguar's stated aim of introducing technology that enhances rather than impairs the driving experience is underlined by the addition of a substantially improved BluetoothTM system that allows passengers to pair up to five approved mobile phones with the in-car telephone, which automatically stores and synchronises phonebooks and 'last number dialled' lists every time a phone is connected.
